Why this matters
If you write a good prompt once and then throw it away, you will spend time rebuilding it next week. Professionals who use AI daily keep a small library of tested prompts, often called prompt templates. A template gives steady, predictable results, makes you faster, and can be shared with a team. A well tested set of templates for a specific job can even become a digital product, which you will explore later in this track.
What a template looks like
A template is a strong prompt with blanks in square brackets that you fill in each time:
Write a polite WhatsApp reminder to a customer named [first name] who has an unpaid balance of GH₵ [amount] for [item], due on [date]. Tone: warm and respectful, not threatening. Under 50 words. End with how to pay by MoMo and a thank you. Do not add any discount or penalty.
Each time, you replace only the blanks. The tone, length and rules stay the same, so results are consistent.
How to build a good template
- Start from a real success. Use a prompt that already gave you a great result after a few rounds of improvement.
- Turn specifics into blanks. Names, amounts, dates, products and places become [blanks].
- Keep the rules. Tone, length, format, and what to avoid stay fixed.
- with different details. If any result needs heavy editing, improve the template.
