Why this matters
A useful product nobody buys earns nothing. Selling is a skill of its own: finding the people who need your product, showing them its value, setting a fair price, getting paid safely and treating customers well so they recommend you. You can do all of it from a phone or a computer.
Test demand before you spend time
Before polishing for weeks, check that people will actually pay:
- Describe the product on your WhatsApp status or in a relevant group (with permission from the group admin) and see who asks about it.
- Offer a free sample page or a short trial to a few people and ask for honest feedback.
- Ask directly: "Would you pay for this? How much would feel fair?"
If nobody is interested, change the product or the audience. That is learning, not failure.
Setting a price
There is no single right price. Think about:
- Value to the buyer. How much time or money does it save them?
- Similar products. What do comparable templates or guides sell for, locally and online?
- Your audience's budget. A trader in Tamale and a company in Accra can pay different amounts. You can offer a basic version and a fuller version.
Avoid competing only by being the cheapest. Compete on being clear, tested, local and reliable.
