This lesson is optional. Sales training programmes and some employers now talk about AI assistants, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Copilot (named only as examples), as tools for sellers. Used well, they save time on writing and research. Used badly, they produce wrong facts and put customer privacy at risk. If you have done the AI Tools for Work track, this lesson applies those skills to selling.
Where AI can help
- Drafting outreach. Ask for a first draft of a short email or WhatsApp message, then rewrite it in your own voice.
- Preparing for calls. Ask for a list of discovery questions for, say, a pharmacy owner considering a stock app.
- Practising objections. Ask the assistant to play a customer who says "It is too expensive" and practise your responses.
- Summarising your own notes. Turn rough notes from a meeting into a short, clear CRM note, after removing personal details.
- Researching an organisation. Get a quick overview of a type of business or sector before a meeting, then check it.
Rules you must follow
Check every fact. AI assistants sometimes state wrong things confidently, including invented prices, features, laws or company details. Never send a customer a claim you have not checked against your company's real information.
