Why this matters
Social media officers, content creators and small business owners need visuals every day: post graphics, flyer backgrounds, illustrations for a presentation. AI image tools can create pictures from a written description in seconds, and some free design apps now include them. This is optional in this track because image generation can use a lot of data and free limits are often tight, but it is a useful skill for creative roles.
What AI image tools are good at
- Illustrations and simple scenes for posts, slides or children's materials.
- Backgrounds and patterns for flyers.
- Quick ideas to show a client before real design work.
- Editing help, such as removing a background from a photo you took.
Where they go wrong
- Text in images often comes out misspelled or garbled. Add text yourself in a design app instead.
- Hands, faces and details can look strange. Look closely before using an image.
- Stereotypes. Ask for "a Ghanaian market" and you may get something that looks like a film set, not Tamale's central market. Describe what you actually want and check it looks respectful and real.
- Copying. Asking for an image "in the style of" a living artist or using a company's logo raises fairness and legal problems. Do not do it.
