You have skills and projects. Now you need someone to hire you, or pay you for a job. Searching takes persistence, and rejections are normal for everyone. Treat it like a project: a plan, steady effort and learning from each attempt.
Where to look
- Ghanaian job boards and company career pages for fintechs, telcos, banks, agencies and startups.
- Graduate trainee and national service programmes run by tech companies, which often include training and a path to a full role.
- Internships for students, which can lead to offers.
- Remote job boards that list roles open to Africa based applicants. Check location rules, time zones and how you would be paid before applying.
- Communities and meetups, online and in person, where people share openings before they are advertised.
- Local businesses that could use a system you know how to build.
Applying well
- Read the advert carefully and apply only if you meet most of it. "Junior" adverts can list more than they truly need, so do not rule yourself out over one missing tool.
- Write a short message for each application that links one project to their work: "I built a mobile money orders API with idempotent webhooks, which matches your payments work."
