Content adverts, in Ghana and remote, ask for proof that you can shoot and edit, and some ask for a portfolio with the application. Your portfolio is your proof: it shows what you can do far better than a list of apps on a CV.
What to include
Quality beats quantity. Aim for a small set of your best work, around six to ten pieces, that shows range:
- Short vertical videos for a business or cause.
- A longer video, such as an interview, event highlight or YouTube tutorial.
- Product and portrait photos.
- A before and after, such as a raw clip next to your edit, or old product photos next to yours.
- Captions or a script you wrote.
For each piece, add one or two lines: who it was for, what the goal was, what you did (filmed, edited, wrote) and any honest result you have permission to share, such as "the shop received more WhatsApp orders that week" if the owner told you so. Never invent results or claim work you did not do.
Only include client work if the client agreed, and only include people who gave consent.
Where to host it cheaply
- An unlisted YouTube playlist for videos.
- A cloud drive folder with clearly named files, shared as a view only link.
