A strategy turns a pile of good ideas into a plan someone can approve and follow. The week 9 assignment asks for a one page SEO strategy presented in Google Slides, built on a content calendar that covers blogs, FAQs and multimedia. This is the kind of document a junior SEO or content marketer hands to a manager or client.
The content calendar
Your calendar lists what will be published, when, by whom, and why. Use a sheet with these columns:
- Date for publishing.
- Title of the page or post.
- Type: guide, FAQ update, product page, photo set or short video.
- Pillar it belongs to.
- Main keyword from your map.
- Owner: who writes, photographs or films it.
- Status: idea, drafting, ready, published.
- Promotion: where it will be shared, such as WhatsApp Status, a Facebook post or an email.
Plan around real life. Shea butter guides make sense before the harmattan; school uniform pages before the new term; catering guides before the wedding and festival seasons. Be realistic: one excellent page a fortnight, kept up, beats ten planned pages that never appear.
Measuring progress
You cannot control rankings directly, so measure several signals over time.
