It is easier to keep practising when you know where the practice can lead. Digital skills open doors to many kinds of work, from entry level office and customer service roles to careers in marketing, design, data, product and software. Some of these jobs exist in Tamale, Bolgatanga and Wa, some in Accra and Kumasi, and some can be done remotely. You do not need to choose now, but exploring the options helps you stay motivated.
Some digital career paths
- Digital marketing. Helping businesses reach customers online through social media posts, search engines, email and adverts. The DMP cohort focuses on this area, with specialisations in SEO and content marketing, social media marketing, and Google Ads.
- UI and UX design. Designing apps and websites that are easy and pleasant to use, often with tools like Figma.
- Data. Collecting, cleaning and studying information to help organisations make decisions. NGOs, banks and research organisations all need people who handle data carefully.
- Product. Working out what an app or service should do for its users and helping a team build it.
- Software. Writing the code that makes websites, apps and systems work, on the front end that users see or the back end that stores data.
