Cashiers, shop attendants and front desk staff in Ghana are asked to process MoMo and card payments, issue receipts and keep accurate records of every transaction. Office assistants keep purchase records. Field officers record activities. If you freelance or run a small business later, you will need records to know whether you are making money at all. This lesson builds those habits with tools you already have.
Mobile money confidently
You may already send and receive MoMo. At work, the extra skills are:
- Check every payment. When a customer says they have paid, confirm the money arrived in the business account, through the official app or menu, before handing over goods. Do not rely on a screenshot or an SMS the customer shows you, since these can be faked.
- Check names and numbers before sending. The confirmation screen usually shows the receiver's name. Read it before you enter your PIN.
- Keep the transaction ID. Every MoMo transaction has a reference number. It helps solve disputes.
- Know the charges. Sending and withdrawing usually have fees. Check them in your provider's official information so you are not surprised.
Reading your transaction history
Your MoMo app or menu shows recent transactions: date, amount, who sent or received, and your balance. Look at it once a week. You will spot mistakes, unknown deductions or a payment you forgot.
