Every job application asks you to attach something: a CV, a certificate, an ID. Office and field jobs involve sending receipts, reports and photos of forms. Knowing where your files are, and how to send a clear copy, saves time and makes you look organised.
Where files live
Phones and computers both store files in folders.
- Downloads. Files you download from a browser or email usually go here.
- Pictures or DCIM. Photos from your camera.
- WhatsApp. Photos and documents people send you on WhatsApp are saved in their own folders.
To see them, open your phone's file manager app. It may be called Files, My Files or File Manager. Tap Downloads or browse by category, such as Documents or Images. On a computer, open File Explorer on Windows or Finder on a Mac and click Downloads in the side panel.
Give files clear names
A file called "IMG_20251003_0912" tells nobody anything. A file called "Hawa Issah CV" or "Hawa Issah SHS Certificate" does. In a phone's file manager, long press a file and choose . On a computer, right click the file and choose . Employers often receive many applications, and clear names help them find yours.
