Waiting for adverts means competing with everyone who sees the same advert. Writing directly to a business with a specific idea for them, and getting introduced by people who already like your work, often brings better clients with less competition.
Outreach: contacting clients who did not post a job
Outreach means you contact a possible client first. It works best when the message is about them, not about you. A good outreach message:
- Greets them by name and shows you know their business.
- Notices one specific thing you could improve. "Your Facebook page has great photos of your rooms, but the last post was in March."
- Offers a small, clear idea. "I could plan and post three times a week for a month, starting with your weekend lunch offer."
- Shows one relevant sample.
- Asks a simple question that is easy to answer. "Would you like me to send a price?"
Keep it short enough to read in under a minute. Never send the same copied message to everyone; people can tell.
Follow up once, politely
Busy owners often miss messages. If there is no reply after about a week, send one short follow up: "Good morning, I wanted to check if you saw my message about your page. Happy to answer any questions." If there is still no reply, stop and move on. Repeated messages damage your name.
