Why this matters
Skills only turn into work when an employer can see them. Testing employers look for careful thinking and clear writing more than certificates, and the good news is that both can be shown in documents you produce yourself. This section helps you package your work, understand where certificates fit, and look widely for a first role.
Be clear eyed about the market
SydCrest's research found only a handful of testing openings in Ghana, mostly in Accra, and several wanted some experience. Remote roles exist, but many are limited to particular countries. That is the honest picture. It means you should:
- Build strong public evidence so you stand out when an opening does appear.
- Apply widely, including to remote roles whose location rules include Ghana.
- Consider nearby roles, where testing skills give you an edge: junior developer, IT support, customer support for software products, product operations.
- Keep learning automation, which widens the roles open to you.
What this section covers
- A testing portfolio. A public collection of your test plan, test cases, bug reports and automation project, shared on GitHub with a clear README.
