Many small business owners in Ghana have paid someone for "social media" and never known whether it helped. That is why clients often stop paying marketers after a few months. If you can plan a campaign with a clear goal, track what happens and explain the results honestly, you become someone they keep. Adverts for junior and senior roles alike ask for campaign planning, performance monitoring and reporting.
The loop
Good marketing runs in a loop:
- Plan. Decide the goal, audience, message, channels, budget and the number you will watch.
- Do. Create and publish the content or ads.
- Measure. Collect the numbers and what customers say.
- Learn. Decide what to keep, change or stop.
- Report. Share it with the client or manager, then plan the next round.
Each round should be a little better than the last because you learned something.
Numbers that matter
Platforms show many numbers. Some feel good but say little about money. Others connect directly to the business goal.
- Attention numbers: reach, views, likes, followers. Useful for awareness, but they do not pay bills on their own.
- Action numbers: messages, calls, link clicks, sign ups, direction requests.
