Sales roles are advertised constantly in Ghana, so the challenge is less finding adverts and more choosing well: roles that train you, pay fairly and treat customers honestly. This lesson helps you search, read adverts and offers carefully, and avoid traps.
Where to look
- Job boards. Ghanaian job sites list many sales, telesales and business development roles. Search by title and town, and set alerts.
- Company career pages. Telecoms, banks, fintechs, insurers, internet providers, consumer goods, agro input and solar companies often post roles on their own sites.
- Free training programmes. Some organisations offer free or sponsored sales and employability training for young people, sometimes with placement support. Check that any programme is genuine and free before signing up.
- Your network. Tell friends, family, former teachers and church or mosque members that you are looking for sales work. Many field sales roles are filled by referral.
- Local businesses. Walk into shops, distributors and agro dealers in your town with your one page portfolio. Small businesses often hire people who show initiative.
- Remote roles. Some software companies hire sales development representatives across Africa to work online. These need a reliable connection, a quiet space and strong written English.
