Finding your first frontend role takes a clear CV, honest profiles, steady applications and interview practice. Remote adverts we studied often stressed written English and communication, and Ghanaian roles included internships and National Service placements. This lesson brings it together.
Your CV
Keep it to one page:
- Top: name, town, phone, email, portfolio link, GitHub link.
- Summary: two lines, such as "Frontend developer building fast, accessible sites for phones and laptops. React, TypeScript, testing."
- Projects: your best two or three, each with one line on the problem and one on what you built, plus a link.
- Skills: only what you can discuss in an interview.
- Experience and education: include freelance work, National Service, volunteering and SydCrest.
Tailor the summary and skills order to each advert. Save it as a PDF with a clear file name, such as Wumpini-Frontend-CV.pdf.
Your profiles
Keep your GitHub and LinkedIn consistent with your CV. Pin your best repositories. A clear photo and a one line headline help. Post occasionally about what you are building.
