Hiring managers in Accra and remote teams often look at your projects before they read your CV. A strong portfolio is your best evidence. It does not need to be fancy; it needs to be clear, honest and easy to check on a phone or a laptop.
Quality over quantity
Show three to five of your best projects, not every exercise you have done. A good mix:
- One project built for a real person or organisation, such as a shop, school or NGO.
- One interactive JavaScript or React app that loads data and handles loading and errors.
- One project showing accessibility and performance care, with before and after results.
- Optionally, a payment flow or offline project that shows you understand Ghanaian users.
Projects built for real users count for more than copies of tutorials. If you followed a tutorial, change it substantially and say what you added.
What each project needs
For every project, provide:
- A live link that works on a phone and a computer.
- A GitHub repository with a clean commit history.
