The biggest practical problem in page management is not ideas. It is material. You plan a post about new stock, but the owner never sends the photo. You plan a customer story, but nobody asks the customer. Most small business owners will not write captions, yet almost all of them can send photos and voice notes on WhatsApp. Your job is to make that easy, regular and organised.
Ask small, ask regularly
A vague request like "send me content" gets nothing. A specific, regular request works:
- Same day each week. For example, every Monday morning.
- Specific items. "Please send three photos of the new arrivals, one short video of the shop, and a voice note telling me anything new this week."
- Easy format. Photos and voice notes on WhatsApp, which the owner already uses.
- A friendly reminder. If nothing arrives by Tuesday, send one short follow up. Do not nag more than that; adjust the plan instead.
Help the owner take usable photos
Send a short guide once, maybe as an image or voice note:
- Clean the lens with a soft cloth.
- Use daylight near a door or window. Avoid harsh midday sun.
- Hold the device still and fill the frame with the product.
- Take a few shots, both upright and sideways.
- Plain backgrounds work best: a wall, a cloth, a table.
