Every major platform gives business accounts free insights: numbers showing who saw the content, what they did and how the audience is changing. You can read them on a phone or a computer. The skill is knowing what each number means, choosing the ones that fit the client's goal and recording them consistently.
Where to find them
- Facebook and Instagram. Meta Business Suite has an Insights area on the web and in the app, covering the Page and the linked Instagram account. Individual posts also show their own results.
- TikTok. Business and creator accounts have analytics in TikTok Studio or the account tools, with sections for overview, content, followers and LIVE, and date ranges such as the last seven, twenty eight or sixty days.
- LinkedIn. Page admins can see analytics for visitors, followers and content.
- WhatsApp Business. Shows basic message statistics, but most of the useful data is in your own inbox log.
Platforms rename and redesign these screens often. Learn what each number means, then find its current name.
What the main numbers mean
- Views. How many times content was shown or played. One person can count several times. Meta now uses views as its main measure of how often content was seen, in place of the older impressions.
